BAD TIMES!!

Someday, the archer’s quiver will get empty
He will reach for an arrow and find none
He will wander in the woods in frenzy
And loathe the fading sun

Someday, the big trumpet will sound
The beacon will be lit on the mount
It could be for war, an end to freedom
Or the real end, the Armageddon

Someday, the wall you lean against will fall
You may have to stand firm or go down
Regardless of how short or tall
Gravity will bear his crown

Someday, the people who make you smile shall be no more
They may not hear you when you call
Their warm embrace you ardently adore
Shall fall on the other side of the wall

We pray these days never come
But while we stay cool and calm
Bad times lurk on the shores of our lives
We better get prepared for nature has cast her dice

WHO ARE THEY?

They say never give up
And we end up holding on to things that aren’t ours
They say letting go is a sign of maturity
And we end up loosing what rightfully belongs to us
They say the early bird catches the early worm
What if there are two early birds?
Then the strongest shall survive
Perfect picture of a chaotic source
They say life is not a race
Just wait till they get there first
They say once bitten, twice shy
Why then should we try again?
They say you don’t know what you have until you loose it
What then do they mean by no love lost, no love found?
They say Penny wise, Pound foolish
Amazing, isn’t it?
Never judge a book by its cover
Yet, first impressions last longest
Birds of the same feather flock together
Isn’t that an endorsement of racism and ostracism?
If you can’t beat them, join them?
Need I say more?
They say…..they say……
Who are they?
And are they always right?

THIS STORY!

Some stories are better left untold
This is not one of those stories
This story shall be told
This story is being told
Pay attention to this story
This story is a true story
This story is one of love
It shall not end well
This story is not funny
Nevertheless, you cannot help but laugh
No one knows this story
But everyone will know this story
This story does not make sense
This story is intense
This story is a mystery

You shall not be satisfied with this story
This story will lure you and leave you in the dark
This story shall whet your appetite and starve you
This story shall be narrated by a dumb man
The deaf shall hear this story
The blind shall read this story
This story will shake the pillars of history
This story is a profound story
You shall not understand this story
This story is of a strange setting
The Bermuda triangle; Amazon rainforest; the Milky Way
This story has no title
But call it ‘This Story’
Quit waiting for this story
This story just got told!!

THE HAPPY FRIEND

Once I had a happy friend
Twice you wrong him
Thrice he forgives you
He always wore a smile
He made the worse look better
An epitome of an optimist
A trait I still can’t fathom

I perceived he had a perfect life
Until he narrated his story;
His mother died at his birth
And his father unlawfully remanded
For the first time I saw his sad face
‘Daddy did nothing wrong,
He only scolded a Richman’s son’
For that he’s been away for five years?
And there I stood in dismay
Wondering how he still smiles

So I gathered courage
And asked of his little secret
As usual, he smiled
Tapped me on the shoulder
And said ‘it could have been worse’
In five words he brainwashed me
And I too became a happy boy
For whatever that life serves you,
Just know ‘it could have been worse’
