I DREAM OF A WORLD!

I dream of a world
A perfect utopian world
A world full of love
A world like the one above
A world of equality
A world of absolute quality
Where there is neither rich nor poor
With content hearts, not wanting more
A world without crime
Where the youth don’t do drugs in their prime
A world of no tears
Why shed tears when there are no fears?
A world of boundless possibilities
One of abounding opportunities
A world where colours don’t matter
Where there is enough bread and butter
A world where security isn’t a necessity
For peace guards the big cities
Happy people all over town
No one fighting over the crown
They say such a world doesn’t exist
Indeed! Such a world might never exist
And that’s why I’ve been wondering
What stops us from dreaming??

ACROSS THE BRIDGE!

She lives at the other side of the bridge
A place for the elite and rich
Where the kids have a chauffeur
And they get whatever they prefer

We eat little on our side of the bridge
And grow wishing we were sons of the rich
The wealthiest here can’t match their chauffeur
So we barely get what we prefer

Woe unto us when we’re late for school
They come late and the teacher’s are cool
We do better academically
They employ us eventually

I know it’s not fair
But I don’t really care
For this story is about her
And not what is unfair

I was a benefactor of her dad’s scholarship
Yet I couldn’t boast of her friendship
In her eyes, I was invisible
Damn! That feeling was terrible!

The plan was to find a common interest
I stalked her on facebook, twitter and pinterest
I found out she was a big fan of poetry
And that knowledge unearthed my prowess in poetry

There isn’t a definite time for writing a poem
But it took a week to cook her, the magic poem
I entitled it, the Breakthrough
For it was like a master’s brew

Amazing! That’s what she called the poem
It turned out I wasn’t only good at chem.
In no time, I got my first kiss from Rose
And to the other side of the bridge, I arose!!

WE ARE THE ONES!!

We are the ones with soft hearts
The ones who get hurt
We are the ones with no voice
The ones who have no say
We are the ones with no defense
The ones who are accused
We are the ones with no future
The ones with blurred visions
We are the never-do-wells
The ones society frowns upon
We are the ones with no one
The ones living in solitude
We are the inferior ones
The victims of mockery
We are the ones you think you know
Yet, the ones you barely know

For we are the ones with nothing to lose
The ones who go all out
We are the ones who fell seven times
The ones who still stand
We are the survivors
The ones who have endured harsh times
We are the custodians of selflessness
The ones who have learnt to share
We are the ones with bitter beginnings
The ones with sweeter endings
We are the ones who learnt the hard way
The ones resistant to pain
We are the ones who laugh last
The ones who laugh best
We are the ones who abound in love
Undisputedly, the happy ones!!

Who are you?

WORLDS APART!

Too many times she gave her heart out
To men who know the rules and yet flout
She never got it back the same
She had no one but herself to blame
The world of love showed her exits
She felt her dream man doesn’t exist
She decides not love again
Until she falls and can’t explain

He has everything except one thing
That special damsel to call his Queen
Many came his way, but as time flies
His heart got tossed out like a dice
He gave everything, expecting nothing in return
Indeed, he got nothing in return
He decides not to love again
Until he falls and can’t explain

He is the type she dreams of
She is the type he dreams of
He lives in America
She lives in Africa
Their fragile hearts bear a huge cross
As their paths might never cross
Oh! What story of hearts torn apart
As they literally live in worlds apart!
